In the heart of World War II, amidst the chaos and danger that raged across the globe, a lesser-known but pivotal battle took place on the remote island of Ramree in Myanmar. The film begins with an introduction to the desperate situation of Allied forces in the Pacific theater in early 1945. As the fight for control over Southeast Asia reaches a critical point, British and Indian troops find themselves engaged in a fierce struggle against the Japanese army in the dense jungles and mangrove swamps of Ramree Island.

Led by an experienced British officer, Major Thomas Whinton, a small detachment of soldiers is tasked with securing the island and its strategically important airstrip. However, they soon discover that their mission is far from easy when they encounter a tenacious and determined Japanese garrison.
