"The Leisure Seeker" là một bộ phim dựa trên tiểu thuyết cùng tên của tác giả Michael Zadoorian. Bộ phim kể về cuộc hành trình đầy phiêu lưu của một cặp vợ chồng già, Ella và John Spencer, khi họ quyết định đi du lịch bằng chiếc xe RV cũ của mình, được gọi là The Leisure Seeker.
Ella (do Helen Mirren thủ vai) đã được chẩn đoán mắc bệnh Alzheimer và John (do Donald Sutherland thủ vai) bị mắc chứng mất trí nhớ. Thay vì sống trong sự hạn chế và những kỷ niệm khó quên, họ quyết định bỏ lại mọi thứ phía sau và lên đường khám phá nước Mỹ một lần cuối cùng.
Trên hành trình của họ, Ella và John trải qua những trải nghiệm đáng nhớ, từ việc băng qua đồng cỏ xanh tươi của miền Trung, đến việc tham quan những bãi biển đẹp ở Florida, và thậm chí cả việc gặp gỡ với con gái và cháu trai
